Ingredients:

To make dosa chutney, you will need the following ingredients:

– 1 cup urad dal (black gram)
– 1/2 cup chana dal (bengal gram)
– 1/2 cup coconut, grated
– 2 green chilies, finely chopped
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
– 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
– Salt to taste
– 2 tablespoons oil
– 1/4 cup water (for soaking and cooking)

Instructions:

1. Soak the urad dal and chana dal in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. This will help soften the dals and make them easier to grind.
2. After soaking, drain the dals and rinse them thoroughly.
3. In a blender, combine the soaked dals, grated coconut, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, and salt. Add 1/4 cup of water and blend until a smooth paste is formed.
4. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds and allow them to crackle and release their flavors.
5. Once the seeds are crackling, add the blended dal mixture to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and becomes glossy.
6. Add the remaining 1/4 cup of water to the pan and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. The chutney should be thick and well-cooked.
